Christmas 2020 – Virtual Road Trip Soundtrack

Welcome to the auto podcast that gives you the best Christmas Episodes!

It’s okay to admit you loved last year’s Christmas episode. This year, we thought we’d put together another list of our ‘favorite things.’

And while you may not be able to drive to Grandma’s house this Christmas, you can still pretend we’re all driving the Dan Ryan, headed to a party in an old Chevy Astro van, all the while hoping the Christmas tree doesn’t fall off the roof.

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, we proudly present our Christmas gift to the world for 2020: The Throwin’ Wrenches Virtual Road Trip Soundtrack.

The Ground Rules

Sure, it’s easy to come up with a few of our favorite road trip songs at the drop of a hat. But Eric suggested we dig a little deeper into the vinyl collection and purposefully select only driving songs.

What is a driving song?  It’s not just a song about a car (sons like The Dead Milkmen’s Bitchin

Camaro and Commander Cody’s Hot Rod Lincoln instantly come to mind. While those are great songs, they are not what we’d consider ‘sit back and cruise’ songs.

All of the songs we compiled for this episode are not only amazeballs, they also contain some reference to driving. With the abbreviated car show and event season, we both felt as though we needed more windshield time to crank the radio up and let the good times roll. As winter rolls in, consider this a reminder that the sunny days and good times are just around the corner. Turn up the bass, roll down the windows and rock these playlists at your leisure.

Oh, and one more thing…

Merry Christmas!

  1. Red Barchetta – Rush

  2. Nada – The Refreshments

  3. Get to You – Joe Ely

  4. Long Way Home (cover) – Hot Club of Cowtown

  5. Everybody’s Talking (cover) – Glen Campbell
